Episode 3 – Tears for fears

This week, Ria and Vikas split, while Pavitra and Sufzal stuck together in the split-or-stick session. What came next was a surprise for everyone – for the first time this season, Nikhil announces that the couples are going on dates to separate locations in Phuket, and there is no challenge involved! Check out the look on their faces when they heard this news.

Little did they know…!

Later on, when Nikhil was alone with the girls, the truth was revealed. (Did the contestants actually think they were being let off the hook that easily?) Each girl was given a dull, dreary topic which she was to ramble on about, while they were on their date. They were forbidden from telling the guys anything about this, meaning it was going to be a real test of the girl’s charms. Of course, everything depended on whether the guy is actually listening to her in the first place!

The next challenge “Buddy Breathing” was a humdinger after the last one, where the winning couple gets to challenge Arjun and Pooja to their throne. Each couple was given one oxygen tank to share. They were to scuba dive, and find a “treasure” on the sea bed. Many gasps and gulps later, Arjun & Pooja found the Oyster and retained their title.

Back at the dumping ground, emotions ran higher than ever with all the contestants against Ashish, aka “The Master Mind”.

Kiran, Monika, Parag and Mahip found themselves on the dumping ground after Raman was voted in by the team and saved once again.

If Parag thought he was going to get lucky that night, he was in for a minor disappointment. Riya, his own girlfriend dumped him!

The King and Queen had a royally tough decision to make, ‘cause they really didn’t want to dump anyone. Apparently they never heard Spidey’s granny saying “with great power comes great responsibility”. When it came down to it, Arjun decided to dump Kiran – simply because he had to dump someone!

“I really want to be in the show, that’s all it’s just hard luck…please think twice… please…” were the last words of Kiran.

Pooja, on the other hand just couldn’t decide between Parag and Mahip. After a tearful debate, she had to let go of Parag, ending this week’s episode with everyone in tears.

Episode 1 – Allies form and enemies are born

The war has just only begun, but we already have our first round of casualties with the loss of Pulkit and Priyanka.

The first episode of the much awaited third season started off with a round of introductions, before entering the villa and settling in.  The boys were all introduced at Karon Beach over a game of volleyball and the single women and the couples were introduced at Chalong Pier.

VJ Nikhil and Deepti entered the villa and briefed them on the rules and regulations of Vodafone MTV Splitsvilla 3, and then the King and Queen were chosen by the 10 singles. Following this was the first interesting task of the day – The 4 remaining couples have to choose partners from the singles to increase their hotness quotient; an important factor for the photo shoot contest at the beautiful Maikaho Beach the next day.

Dusk was settling in and the search for a partner was going on strong.

Who’s pairing and who’s not? This was a good way for the contestants to break the ice and get to know each other, something they have to do anyway if they want to stay in the game.

By the end of the night Pavitra, Raj, Pulkit and Nirmal were yet to choose their partners.

Hemant and Priyanka who are couples in real life were not trying very hard to find partners for themselves. The tension between them was apparent as it continued all the way to the morning culminating in the first verbal tiff in the war zone amongst the lovers and Pulkit.

At this point, everyone is at Mai Khao Beach where their partners are revealed to the cameras for the first time.

There was some drama happening between Raj and Priyanka, as Raj completely refused to pair up with Priyanka thereby leading themselves straight to the dumping ground!

Hemant finally chooses to do the shoot with Nirmal and the other 4 are directly headed towards the dumping ground as they are not willing to pair up (Pavitra, Pulkit, Raj and Priyanka).

The photographer was introduced to the scene and the photo shoot contest began where each of the six couples performed their tasks.

The tension was running high when they returned back to the villa and the Generals (VJ Nikhil and Deepti) announced the results; the winners being VIKAS AND RIA!

After the cheers and smiles, the Generals then moved on to the last part of the show… the dreaded elimination round.

Out of the villa headed Pulkit and Priyanka!

Wait and watch for the next set of tasks in episode 2 – The initial skirmishes are over and the war has just begun!
